The Communications Department requested a video series that would enlighten consumers on various issues related to the company – bills, outages, environment, etc. We wanted a creative that would resonate with the viewer and be able to tell our stories with a variety of perspectives.

I conceived the idea of a modern extended family and, collaborating with the client, “The Bombillas” was born. A “light bulb” moment!!! Having this many characters to choose from allowed us to focus on a few characters per show, so that each month we’d see other family members and what they are going through.

The two-minute episodes started out as an outline from the client, and I would help write and consult on the script development – creating rough text boards and visuals. Characters were designed in Illustrator and animation produced in After Effects.

The series won Best Multimedia Project at The 2018 Canadian Public Relations Society Awards.
